Jarrow-based Wescott Industrial Services have appointed Mick Flaherty as Business Development Director.
Mick, a well known expert in Rope Access brings some 28 years of Oil & Gas experience to the post, having worked for some of the largest thermal insulation and asset management companies in addition to his own Rope Access firm in Dubai.
Mick is also the holder of the world record for the highest rope access project which involved cutting 260mm holes through the toughened steel for festive lighting on the top of the Burj Khalifa (2,717’) building in Dubai using an air driven trepanning machine, thermal spraying, welding light housings and finally fitting and sealing external lights.

Mick, who lives in Gosforth with his wife and three sons is a keen fitness enthusiast and marathon runner. Established in 2010, Wescott Industrial Services work primarily in the Offshore, Transport Infrastructure and Industrial Facilities sectors, enjoying a significant annual turnover and employing some 50 full time managerial, supervisory and multi discipline operatives supported by temporary onsite crews employed for specific projects to suit requirements.
