Wescott Industrial Services were contracted by AMCO Giffen to perform the surface preparation and coatings on these two structures. Wescott supplied all necessary information, permits and QHSE documentation prior to starting the works. The works were performed off a fixed access scaffolding during
days shifts and possession works on nightshifts.
Wescott prepared the surface to SA2.5 & ST3 standards complying to all current regulations surrounding the removal of lead paint, we utilised decontamination units, double bagged waste and ensured all waste was disposed of safely and correctly with an authorised waste handler, we then applied the protective coating system via airless spray machines. We worked from a fully contained scaffolding when performing grit blasting operations. The biggest challenge on this project was working over water and working during the winter months.
We completed the surface preparation and coatings work on time and within budget including possession work on the trackside.
The works were performed in two phases to allow for steelwork to be performed.
